Anonymous said: I don't know if somebody already asked you this but when did you get into ARROW? was it right from the beginning and were you hooked right away? because I started Arrow season 1 right after Season 2 "Three Ghosts" finished and I loved that episode and decided to watch it from the beginning but I personally thought Arrow season 1 was soooo boring until I read online that Olicity was a real thing so I continued watching just for them :)
This is a tough question. I wasn’t in love with Arrow from the beginning. I thought there were good things and bad. I was intrigued enough to watch again after the pilot but I wasn’t overly sure I liked Oliver Queen as a character. I was a huge fan, however, of some of the other actors, like Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance) and Susanna Thompson (Moira Queen) and Colin Salmon (Walter Steele). And when Felicity Smoak showed up? Bam! I finally saw a version of Oliver I liked. I kept telling myself it was a good thing I loved the action/stunts of the show and was intrigued enough by the characters to keep watching because I has 0 interest in the romance aspect of the show. Then Felicity walked into Big Belly Burger to meet Oliver and give him that list and it was like the clouds parts and the doves flew and magic unicorns pranced across the screen as a chorus sang “Here she is! Here’s the romance! This is her! Oliver and Felicity, sitting in a tree….”
So while I was a huge fan of certain actors and the stuns and action from the beginning, my enjoyment of Oliver Queen as a character was much slower (and definitely was made capable by the introduction of Diggle and, later, Felicity but don’t even get me started on Oliver betraying Diggle with that whole Deadshot thing). For me? Team Arrow (Oliver/Diggle/Felicity) AND the Oliver/Felicity dynamic is what saved this show for me. Without them I don’t know that I would have stayed watching the show. But without Felicity and what she brought out in Oliver’s character (a sense of fun, of depth, of “more,” of humor, or humanity…), the rounding out of Team Arrow, and the introduction of a romance I could actually root for and invest in… I strongly suspect I would have given up on the show midway through Season 1.
This!!! My thoughts exactly!
Me too I think like you the best is Felicity 👍

Rationally analyzing our world “Olicity”…
There’s no doubt that despite the ” troll master ”, the season finale was a big step for us Olicity‘s. But analyzing coldly , I can not help wondering if Olicity is really the ” End Game ” of history by those details .
We know that the series is only based on the HQ’s, not following the letter all there, however many people say that there are limits for this. One of these limitations is the fact that Arrow would definitely end up with BC, who as we saw in the season finale , it seems to be Dinah Laurel Lance ( as in Hq ‘s) . And despite the character Felicity have won a large mass of fans, without the slightest chance to have our Oliver. There are also, those who believe that in our capitalist world, the production and the writers of the series will eventually choose the side that yields more profit, that looks like it is ours. However there are those who say that DC comics will not allow a change of this magnitude was made in history. Just as happened in ”Smallvile”. Everyone who knew the story knew that Clark was destined to Lois not matter what happened . Except that there arrived one blonde named Chloe and “messed ” everything. LOL
All I’m writing from that point on is based on what I have read. I never saw Smallvile because never interested me, but from what I understand, although Chloe has won many fans and everybody wants her with Clark, Lois eventually won the game, as the original writing. And those people who say that say the same thing will happen in Arrow . The producers themselves already mentioned it: Laurel is destined to Oliver as Lois was destined to Clark . Felicity is a kind of ” Chloe - 2.0 “. May even be something happening between them but in the end all, Oliver belongs to Laurel, as in the original .
We know that the mass “Olicity ” has become big, but let’s say too, the character Laurel despite being unbearable until a while ago, now has had significant changes. I loved seeing that side ” friend ” of her next to Oliver, struggling together and everything. Lately no longer boring as before and has gained a little space in history . And these changes plus the fact that she become the next Canary at times can be a bit ” dangerous ” for the fandom Olicity. Our fandom is big, but I also think that the crowd against is big also. And I refer not only to Lauriver, but also those who don’t care about the romance of the story, but at all costs want the story to strictly follow the comics. Some of these are even starting to hate Felicity because of the proportions that the character took , disrupting the “right ” course of history. And I confess that scares me.
I’m Olicity since the beginning of the series, but I’m also standing on the floor, and I wonder if I’m not shipping something destined to never be. Because if so , then I’ll start cheering for her go to ” The Flash” and join with the cute Barry Allen. ( That’s if he does not already have someone also —’. I have never read any comic super heroes so don’t know the original story of them . . )
I read also included that in the original stories , Felicity even exist . Another said that she exists, but not made part of the circle of friends of Green Arrow. I really don’t want to deceive myself and end up disappointed . Not that I care just with the novel , I also like the fights and everything , but for me the novel is also important.
So, you that have read my giant text ‘till here , lol, what do you have to say ? What’s your opinion?
I really don’t understand what people have against Felicity. She’s the best character on the show right now. She brings light and happiness to our show. If she wasn’t there the show would be too serious sometimes. And even if they don’t ship Olicity they have to agree that her computer skills help a lot in the development of the story too. What would they do without Felicity?
I think a big part of that people that don’t like Felicity Smoak, don’t like her just because they think she’s a threat for what they want: Lauriver. And in a way, that makes me happy because that means they are seeing the same as we. They are seeing the enormous chemistry between Emily Bett Rickards and Stephen Amell and that means the writers see that too, and they can’t waste that potencial so i think Olicity has to happen eventually.
Now… If they will be “end game” or not… That’s a decision they will have to make.
Like you, i’m afraid of what they may do to our ship.
I don’t know what the writers are really planing to be the “end game” but, one thing i know is that if they really want to give us Olicity, they can.
1st: Because like you said, “the series is only based on the HQ’s, not following the letter all there”
2nd: Because even with the comics being out there, from what i heard and read about it, in the comics, Arrow and Black Canary get married BUT they also get divorced and in the New 52 they don’t even know each other.
So… They can always make Lauriver happen (like in the comics) but at the end, give us Olicity. I don’t know if that’s what they are planning on doing but it’s always a possibility.
ps: O seu inglês me pareceu muito bom. Mas não se preocupe muito com isso. Para muitos de nós, aqui no Tumblr, inglês não é a nossa 1ª lingua. Eu também ainda erro, algumas vezes. =)
Hi I am new and not good in English but I can say I have100% with you that you write on your blog. And I am fan of Felicity( Emily bett rikard) :-)
